Why is this happening to me?
Welcome to DivorceCare! You've accessed our help line! If you're going through separation or divorce, then you're probably feeling the pains of rejection, anger, confusion, failure...feeling scared and unloved. Both parties suffer in separation/divorce, and it's hard...hard for the one left behind and hard for the person who left.
You don't have to go through this journey alone! DivorceCare is a 13-week series facilitated by people who have both experienced divorce and understand this difficult time in your life as well as the pain you are experiencing.
At DivorceCare, you become part of a small support group of people who are also experiencing separation/divorce. Discussion and interaction with other participants help you to understand what you are feeling, plus they will also offer you encouragement.
DivorceCare is nondenominational and features biblical teaching. It features videotaped seminar sessions on DVD's involving nationally recognized experts on divorce and recovery topics. The counselor or psychologist sets the stage, and the honesty and openness of the victims on the DVD's makes it "real life-not sugar coated."
The 13-weekly seminar topics include: What's Happening to Me?; The Road to Healing/Finding Help; Facing Your Anger; Facing Your Depression; Facing Your Loneliness; What Does the Owner's Manual Say?; New Relationships; Financial Survival; Kid Care; Single Sexuality; Forgiveness; Reconciliation; and Moving On, Growing Closer to God.
Two 13-week sessions are held each year. For more information and starting dates, please call our church office at 919-736-3336 (weekdays 9am - Noon) or contact Billy and Lynette Hales, DivorceCare Facilitators, at lynettehales@pikevillechurch.com.
What about your kids? They're experiencing the same feelings you are, and they're blaming themselves for what's going on. We realize they need help too, and we also offer DivorceCare For Kids (DCK4) ages kindergarten - 12. For more information, please visit our church's DC4K ministry page or www.divorcecare.org. |
