As In the Days of Noah

This sermon uses the comparison Jesus made between the end time and the days of Noah. It seems there are many parallels to our day. Unbelievers need to get into the safety of God’s ark before it’s too late.

As In The Days of Noah
Matthew 24:36 - 44

In this Christian race, the finish line is before us.

You’d Better Get Into the Ark

I. NOAH WARNED PEOPLE TO PREPARE

Noah warned about God’s coming punishment, only his family believed.

Unbelievers laughed at Noah and his family because of…

  • What he preached
  • The godly way his family lived
  • The big boat they built

One has said, “He who laughs last, laughs best!”

People that refused Noah’s message to repent died in the flood.

II. MOST IGNORED THE WARNING

"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat." 2 Peter 3:9-12 NIV

God is patient He wants everyone to turn from sin.

Noah’s day was a pleasure-oriented society.

Marriages fail because one or both of the partners are selfish.

III. JESUS COMPARED NOAH’S DAY WITH THE END TIME

Jesus warned that it is time to get right now!

As their possessions washed away, they ran to Noah trying to get into the boat.

Religion and true spirituality is not the same thing.

Because Noah believed and was obedient, God saved him and his family!

IV. THE ARK WAS A PICTURE OF CHRIST

The Bible mentions three arks each was a place of refuge, shelter, and safety.

Noah’s ark - Moses’ Ark – The Ark of the Covenant

The door to “the Ark” is open today for all who will to enter, in time it will be closed.

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 NIV

Are you in the Ark?
