When You Need a Miracle

In order to make a difference in the lives of others, we need to let God make a difference in us

When You Need a Miracle

Matthew 8:17

At the New Year, we reflect on the past 365 days and focus on the next 365 days.

A great resolution, In all that he did in the service of the Temple of God and in his efforts to follow God’s laws and commands, Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly. As a result, he was very successful. 2 Chronicles 31:21 NLT

A great life influences this and generations to come. The man who led to Christ the man who led Billy Graham to Christ changed the course of history.

I. Learn From the Man With Leprosy.

…A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean." Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing he said. “ Be clean!" Immediately the man was cured of his leprosy… Matthew 8:1-4

With Jesus, there is no such thing as being too "unclean," no one is untouchable.

II. Learn From the Centurion.

When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. "Lord," he said, "my servant lies at home paralyzed and in terrible suffering." Jesus said to him, "I will go and heal him." The centurion replied, "Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed... When Jesus heard this, he was astonished… Matthew 8:5-13

This Roman military leader showed great faith and compassion.

What caused Jesus to praise his faith?

A. It was a "no-limits" faith.

B. It was a humble faith

God is not good to us because we are good He is good to us because He is good.

C. It was a compassionate faith.

We pray, “Lord bless me” so that we can bless others, not to stockpile blessings.

III. Learn From Peter's Mother-in-Law.

When Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw Peter's mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever. He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him. Matthew 8:14-16

This story gives insight into the tender, compassionate nature of Jesus. He treats people with kindness.

Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. (Mark 10:43-44)

 Greatness is within your reach.
