How God Provides in a Drought

God is able to meet your need even when it looks impossible.

HOW GOD PROVIDES IN A DROUGHT
1 Kings 17:13 -16

I. THE NATURE OF GOD

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Psalm 23:5 KJV

And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.” John 1:16 KJV

II. THE NATURE OF GOD'S JUDGMENT

God sent Prophet Elijah to confront Ahab and announce a drought, and then Elijah had a time of rest.

Then GOD spoke to him:  "Get up and go to Zarephath in Sidon and live there. I've instructed a woman who lives there, a widow, to feed you." 1 Kings 17:8–9

III. THE NATURE OF GOD'S PROVISION

So she said, "As the LORD your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die." 1 Kings 17:12

Until we release to God what we have, we will never have enough.

IV. THE NATURE OF GOD’S DELIVERANCE

"Go at once to Zarephath of Sidon and stay there. I have commanded a widow in that place to supply you with food."

God’s instructions to get out of a drought!

LEAVE Your Comfort Zone

Comfort is an obstacle to change.

The hassles of the old problems may seem better than meeting the challenge of new solutions.

LET Go of Your Fear…

God knows where you are - Isa.41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

God knows where you’re going! – We don’t know what God has in our future, but He expects us to obey His instruction.

God has prepared a place –  Where God tells you to go may be sacrificial but it is the place of God’s miracles

LOOK for God’s Provision

vs. 9 …I have commanded a widow

God has already provided everything you need.

LOSE your Pride…

You can’t be a giver, unless at some point you’re willing to put pride aside and become a receiver!

In church, He puts people together to help each other find solutions to one another’s personal droughts!

LEND what you have to God

God will meet your needs after He gets your faith and involvement.

CONCLUSION: But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Mt. 6:33

God is More Than Enough!
