To Ruin Your Life...

I. BELIEVE SIN WILL GO UNPUNISHED

The wages of sin is death!” Romans 6:23 KJV

Lot looked up and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan was well watered, like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, towards Zoar. So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out towards the east. Genesis 13:10 NIV

Unless we stay in God’s Word and walk in His will, we are subject to fall into Satan’s trap!

II. IGNORE THE HOLY IN YOUR LIFE

Lot was forewarned of the dangers of Sodom, but steadily his heart and conciseness was deaden.

He made choices based out of what he wanted without consulting God!

He was fully aware of the things going on around him but now it didn’t seem so bad!

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 14:12 KJV

III. LIVE LIFE AT YOUR OWN PACE

Make sure you know before you go!

Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; Genesis 19:19a KJV

Lot had to be taken by the hand; Jonah had to be swallowed by a giant fish. What does God have to do to get your attention?

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee… 1 Samuel 15:23 KJV

IV. ONLY MAKE PARTIAL COMMITMENTS

Lot’s wife wanted a last look, one last time never satisfies!

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. Matthew 5:13

Disobeying God leads to death and uselessness!

God has “A” plan for your life, not two or three plans.

V. TURN YOUR EYES TOWARD TRUTH, BUT KEEP LOOKING BACK

When the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city” Genesis 19:15 NIV.

Mercy makes a way in spite of our shortcomings or lack of faithfulness.
