THE HAND OF GOD

Isaiah 62:1 - 5

God loves you and is compassionate and full of mercy. He will not give up on us until that process is complete.

For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem's sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch. Isaiah 62:1 NIV

>Think of the dawn.

>Think of the blazing torch.

1. He Wants To Call You By A New Name.

(v. 2) You will be given a new name by the Lord's own mouth. NIV

(v. 4) Never again will you be called "The ForsakenCity" or "The DesolateLand." Your new name will be "The City of God's Delight" and "The Bride of God." NIV

>Hephzibah means "the Lord will delight in you;"

>Beulah means, "The land will be married by faith."

Maybe you think your name is loser, sinner, or failure. God gives a new identity not on your past, but on your potential.

2. He Wants To Hold You In His Hand.

(v. 3) The Lord will hold you in his hand for all to see -- a splendid crown in the hand of God. NIV

"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me...No one can snatch them from the Father's hand." (John 10:27-29)

>We are secure in Him.

>We are held by God on display.

>We are to work, walk, and live in partnership with God.

3. He Wants To Delight In You.

(v. 4 - 5) For the Lord delights in you and will claim you as his bride.

(v. 5) Then God will rejoice over you as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride.

Remember the way newlyweds look at each other. God has the same delight in you, you are his treasure.

Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. (Revelation 19:7).
