Breaking The Chains Of Fear

BREAK THE CHAINS OF FEAR
Matthew 28:5 - 10

All fears fall into two groups - fear that is good - fear that is harmful.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV

Fear causes people to make poor decisions and to settle for less than God planned for their lives.

Are you living with a fear that you need to overcome?

I. Don’t Be Afraid to Follow God’s Will

But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, Matthew 1:20 NIV

If God brought you to it, God will see you through it.

II. Don’t Be Afraid to Step Out in Faith

But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid. Matthew 14:27 NIV

Faith steps out on nothing and finds something there.

Faith got Peter out of the boat and on the water but fear brought him down.

III. Don’t Be Afraid to See Jesus for Who He Is

But Jesus came and touched them and said, ‘Arise, and do not be afraid.  Matthew 17:7 NIV

We are awestruck in God’s presence, but still know Him as a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

IV. Don’t Be Afraid To Seek Jesus

"Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. Mathew 28:5 NIV

Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. Psalms 30:5 KJV

And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. Matthew 28:5 KJV

We live this paradoxical life of fear and joy, victory and anxiety, praise and anxiety, that’s not God’s will.

V. Don’t Be Afraid to Tell the Good News

Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me.” Matthew 28:10.

It’s time for the church to be bold, courageous, and a light shining in the darkness. Don’t live in fear and be robbed of your victories.

It’s time to break the chains of fear and walk in victory, which is your birthright as a child of God.
