It All Comes Down To This
It All Comes Down to This
1 Corinthians 15:12 - 20
Paul says if bodily resurrection is not possible, you take away the resurrection of Jesus.
What we lose if we lose the resurrection of Jesus…
I. Without Christ’s Resurrection, Our Faith Is Empty
And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless. I Cor 15:14 NLT
A. The Son of God Remains on the Cross
Jesus remains humiliated, scorned, and dead.
B. No King Means No Kingdom
The wicked get away with their wrongdoing.
C. The Love of God Has Been Blocked.
If Christ is not raised the love of God was not mighty enough to reach the likes of us.
D. Satan Has Won
Nothing is left of Christianity if all that is taken from us.
II. Without Christ’s Resurrection, We Are Wrong About God
A. We Are Wrong About Creation
Creation will groan on until all is dust and ash.
B. God Either Cannot or Will Not Save Sinners
Thinking ourselves "children of the heavenly Father" is the pathetic dream of orphans.
C. God Does Not Affirm That Jesus Was His Son.
If Jesus was not raised it was God who left him in the tomb.
III. Without Christ’s Resurrection, Our Hope of Salvation is Vain
A. "You are still in your sins." Verse 17 NIV
B. We cannot help but continue sinning
C. Those that have “fallen asleep” are lost
D. We are to be pitied more than all men.
IV. But Christ Is Raised From The Dead!
But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. I Cor 15:20 NIV
A. Eyewitnesses Saw Him - Our Lives Prove It.
It is not Jesus who was made a humiliated public spectacle on the cross but Satan, Jesus triumphed over him and seized from him the keys of death and Hell
B. We Are Telling the Truth about God
God vindicated Jesus when he raised him from the dead.
C. Our Salvation is Sure!
We draw life from Him, His strength is made perfect in our weakness
CONCLUSION: All of this is true! Christ is raised from the dead!
This is what it all comes down to.
