SOWING THE SEEDS OF HAPPINESS

Philippians 1:3 - 11

You can be Joy-FULL regardless of your circumstances if you live your life with an eternal view.

Philippians is Paul's most upbeat book and has much to teach about joy and happiness.

"Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." - Abraham Lincoln

Happiness is not searching for you it is a choice, a habit that you develop.

Create a new happiness by…

1. Start Saying Thanks.

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. Philippians 1:3

“Thank you" closes the door on dissatisfaction and opens the door to joy, happiness, and contentment.

"Happiness is produced not so much by great pieces of fortune that seldom happen as by the little advantages that occur everyday." - Benjamin Franklin

2. Look for the Silver Lining

Storm clouds can be very dark yet often with the storm there is something of value.

Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel. Philippians 1:12 NIV

Don’t spend your day stressing about what someone else is doing, refuse to allow others to rob you of your joy.

3. Expect the Best From God.

[I am] confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6 NIV

Paul knew that God was in control of his situation, and was working out things for His glory.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 NIV

Anger, bitterness, resentment, or fears are huge obstacles to happiness.

Create a happiness mindset not governed by your circumstance; it has everything to do with your attitude.

Choose happiness found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
